There are two things you can do with the TKEYSOFT-developed application FileGee for Windows. The first thing you can do is back up your important data; you can set up backup full or incremental backup tasks and run them manually or automatically. The second thing you can do with this application is keep your data in sync; one-way sync, two-way sync, mirror sync, move sync, replace sync, and contribute sync are supported.

The installation file weighs in at 6.5MB, which is not much. Download this file, run it, and you will be presented with a setup wizard; this wizard will guide you through the steps you need to take to install FileGee on your Windows-powered machine. It is overall an effortless process that takes little time to complete.

There are several panels on the application’s interface: Job panel (displays all your backup tasks), Job Progress (tells you if a backup task was successful), and a Property panel (it displays info on a selected backup task). Above these panels there’s a ribbon that hosts all the application’s menus. Speaking about that, from the View menu, the Style submenu you can change the color scheme the application uses.

As mentioned above, FileGee is a backup and sync utility for Windows. To take advantage of the functionality offered by the application, you must set up a job: one-way sync, two-way sync, mirror sync, move sync, replace sync, contribute sync, incremental backup, and full backup. The nice thing about setting up a job is that a handy wizard guides you through the setup process. You will be able to indicate how you want FileGee to handle backup and sync tasks in the easiest of fashions.

There are two FileGee editions to choose from: the free Personal Edition and the paid single user and multi-user Enterprise edition. As you would imagine, the Personal Edition is missing a few features: it can only back up and sync files locally, will not copy file permissions, does not support FTP, and more. A detailed presentation of the differences between the different FileGee editions is available on the application’s official website.

FileGee provides peace of mind – you know that the application will safeguard your data by backing it up and will ensure you always have access to your files by keeping them in sync.

Pros

The installation process is an effortless one. You can change the color scheme of the interface (a user friendly interface mind you). A wizard takes you through the process of setting up a sync or backup task. FileGee Personal Edition is free.

Cons

The Personal edition does not have as many features as FileGee Enterprise.
